New York Fashion Week is more than just clothes—it's a head-to-toe affair, and hairstylist Rutger is behind the hair of some of the weekend’s most talked-about shows. He used Uberliss to craft the perfect looks for four incredible designers Grace Ling, Who Decides War,Jason Wu, and Ronald van der Kemp. Let’s take a peek behind the scenes!

Grace Ling:

Rutger’s inspiration for Grace Ling’s show was all about a windswept, weathered look. But by the time the models hit the runway, the vibe had evolved into something cleaner and more polished. Think “primitive chic” with a center part and baby hairs framing the face. Some models even sported sleek braids that accentuated the minimalist designs.

To achieve this look, Rutger relied on the Uberliss Bond Healing Spray, Flexin Hairspray, and Frizz Elixir. These products kept the hair malleable, creating a look that was understated yet elegant enough to let the clothes standout.

Who Decides War:

For Who Decides War, Rutger mixed old-world elegance with modern street style, creating what he called “urban Victorian chic.” The models had intricate braids that added a timeless feel to the brand’s edgy collection.

The Uberliss Flexin Hairspray and Dry Shampoo were the secret weapons here. Rutger divided the hair into sections, weaving everything from traditional braids to fish braids, and then pinned them together for a style that screamed effortless.

Jason Wu:

Grunge, but make it chic—that’s the vibe Rutger was going for with Jason Wu’s collection. Inspired by the early ’90s, the hairstyles were a perfect balance of sleek and rebellious, echoing the minimal yet luxurious feel of Wu’s designs.

With a combo of Uberliss Bond Healing Spray, Flexin Hairspray, and a touch of Rituoil for shine, Rutger created smooth, polished ponytails with just enough edge to capture that "sophisticated grunge" essence.

Whether it's weathered, braided, or grunge-inspired, Rutger's hairstyles at NYFW were the perfect complement to the fashion-forward collections. Each look, while distinct, brought out the best in the designs without taking away from the actual collections.

Ronald van der Kemp:

Rutger's inspiration was all about 70s glam, drawing from iconic style muses like Pat Cleveland, Jerry Hall, and Donna Jordan. Think Studio 54 vibes—cool, gorgeous girls heading out for a night in NYC.

To complement the intricate couture collection, Rutger used the Flexin Hairspray and Bond Healing Spray to keep the hair healthy, shiny, and perfectly in place. For a Jerry Hall-inspired look, Rutger curled small sections of hair, brushing through for soft waves, and finishing with Rituoil for that luxurious shine.
